Myra Lawson

About Myra

I have been dabbling in art for as long as I can remember.  Originally at evening classes, when I worked during the day as a Probation Officer.  Following early retirement, I became a student at Hertfordshire University studying for a BA in Fine Art and then a Research MA in Photography and Cultural Identity.  Since then I have  run an After  School Art  Club for Primary School age children, become a student again  as well as practicing as a professional artist.

My Work

Myra works intuitively and often does not know herself where her  ideas come from or what will be their outcome. She believes that from many years of visiting galleries and exhibitions she has absorbed and been drawn to the work of many artists and photographers.  She has taken their ideas and made them her own.  She has worked in sculpture, silk, screen-printing, photography and glass.

Exhibitions

  • Many EFOA exhibitions and her work is on display at the homes of family and friends.
