MAGGIE FEALDMAN
Maggie works in ceramics, silk painting and printmaking. She is inspired by ancient, eastern and twentieth century art and design.
‘A’ level pottery was my first experience of clay, I was hooked.
Many years of evening classes followed while working full time as an architect. Later further studies enabled me to gain more knowledge and skills completing a BTEC in ceramics.
Since 2000 I have had a small studio space at home where I can pursue my making using this wonderful material.
I find the varied world of ceramics fascinating and stimulating.

As an architect my ceramics are influenced by an interest in space, form & function which I endeavour to incorporate in my work. I am a founding member of the East Finchley Open Artists group. Membership of EFOA encourages me to develop and show my work to a wider audience. I am also a member of London Potters.
Clay is one of the most tactile materials, it is a joy and a challenge to work with. I take pleasure in making functional ceramics always with an eye to the form. As a contrast to my functional ceramics I work on sculptural pieces for interior and exterior locations. Much of my work is wheel thrown using stoneware clay often with forms assembled from many pieces.
