MAGGIE FEALDMAN
Maggie works in ceramics, silk painting and printmaking. She is inspired by ancient, eastern and twentieth century art and design.
Claudia’s work is inspired by her travels and open exploration – she is always trying new techniques, glazes and firing methods including hand building, throwing and slip casting and also uses different firing techniques including Raku which she enjoys the most.
Working in ceramics started as a hobby but now Claudia is dedicated to creating and exhibiting her ceramic work, and she also teaches pottery to small groups of adults in her studio in North London.
MY WORK
As a marketeer born in Colombia, I have lived and travelled in many counties around the world and it is the variety of cultures and art that has inspired me to work in ceramics. I have spent the last 14 years learning and exploring ceramic techniques and now I am dedicated to create and exhibit my ceramic work.I love to work with clay as it allows me open exploration. I am always trying new techniques, glazes and firing methods and I have an open way of thinking which comes from being in contact to multiple cultures both by living in London and also for my extensive travelling. I use a variety of techniques including hand building, throwing and slip casting and I also use different firing techniques being Raku the one I enjoy the most.
Claudia now offers pottery classes for adults suitable for all abilities. The lessons cover a variety of hand-building techniques including pinch pots, coiling, slab-work, working with press-moulds and modelling, as well as learning the principals of throwing and the wheel.
