About Veronica
My paintings tend to be semi-abstract with a strong accent on design and colour. I enjoy the painting process and sometimes adding collage or incorporating inks, pastels or pencil to introduce detail and texture.
My Work
Having moved from Manchester to Maidenhead in 1978, Veronica commenced her artistic journey by painting a countryside scene with a caravan, as a sign for a company selling caravans in Maidenhead. She also skillfully dressed the shop front as the seasons changed for them.
After moving nearer to London, Veronica's artistic career developed by drawing and designing computer graphics for Distance Learning Training Modules. She also designed the accompanying boxes and book covers.
She created the Christmas cover for the Institute of Training & Development Magazine in 1986.
Subsequently she attended art classes at the Harrow Arts Centre and afterwards in Hatch End, benefitting from a highly qualified and insightful art teacher.
Later she was able to join Pinner Sketch Club, where she was commended for her work several times. Veronica was interviewed by Pinner Local in August 2012. She won the coveted Grimmett Award at the Pinner Sketch Club Exhibition in 2015. Through the annual Exhibitions she managed to sell many of her paintings. In April 2021, Veronica was Artist of the Week in the Pinner Local Magazine 0n-line.
She has also enjoyed executing some exciting Commissions, which required research in order to produce what the client wanted. Another inspiration was an Anniversary Bouquet from which she created an impasto semi-realistic and colourful painting.
At various times she has exhibited her work at Stanmore Library, Westbourne Grove, Bodybackup in Maidenhead and various shops in Pinner.
More recently she has been leading a small B'nai B'rith Group in developing Drawing Skills.
She is proud to follow in her mother's footsteps and pleased that her children and grandchildren also show great artistic talent.
