Vanessa Hernandez

About Vanessa

I really love making prints with vibrant colour, bold designs, patterns and Caribbean flora and fauna. I am drawn to birds, animals, flowers and nature. In my art work I like thick textures, brush strokes and imperfect symmetry.

My Work

All of my designs start off as hand carved stamps, paintings or collages. I enjoy the physical act of drawing, painting and carving my designs and use mainly traditional lino or wood block methods for printing. These designs then form the basis for my digital artwork which I use for fabric, wallpaper, household goods and stationary gifts. Considering the effect I have on the planet has always been important to me and I strive to look for sustainable making and manufacturing methods.
