While studying Architecture I was influenced by Picasso, Moore and Corbusier. As an Architect I worked and travelled in over 38 Countries, designed large Hospital Complexes under considerable Artistic and Financial constraints. Painting and making Sculptures give me the freedom and satisfaction I seek. I have published four books. My work on Hospital design, “Paintings and Sculptures” Life Journey and Traveller Tales.

MY WORK
Paintings: my work has undergone various phases. I started painting in Chicago, where I was working. At the time, I as influenced by the tall cityscape, which I sought to re-imagine in abstract terms. Later, my temperament lead me to try geometrical compositions. After leaving the States, in Italy, I was inspired by nature and the freedom of birds. I also experimented in expressing various moments in human relationships. Lately, I am attracted to rendering my vision of the current climate crisis, life with Covid and the uncertainties of the future. More and more I am interested in expressing myself through pure abstract shapes and colours.
Sculpture: I started small scale sculptures during my annual holidays on a farm in the Mont Blanc region of Italy, where there was a plentiful supply of logs. Back in London, I was drawn to make abstract shapes in plaster and metal, very much influenced by Henry Moore and Picasso. My outdoor sculptures are made in throw-away materials, such as household implements, metal and plastic tubing, metal roof sheeting mixed with concrete to achieve almost life-size abstract figures.
