My Work
My early years were spent living on the South Coast, where I still have a bolthole. This gives me an affinity with the movement and sounds of the waves, huge seascapes and evokes a feeling of needing to create amorphous textured painted pieces.
The brightly coloured beach huts and upbeat beach life spark my creative imagination. I have a need to introduce bold colours, but am just as happy painting or drawing local scenes near my home in Fortis Green, Highgate Wood, Hampstead Heath, or wherever my imagination draws me.
I recently graduated in Advanced Fine Art as a full time student, having come to art late in life after bringing up my family and some years spent as a local authority councillor.. As part of my diploma course, I was filmed on Brighton Beach wearing a full outfit I created from tinted liquid latex, I love using differing materials and mediums to create my pieces, rather than just oil or acrylic paint.
At weekends, I enjoy joining the local en plein air groups painting at London and other locations.
