ABOUT GERARD
Gerard McDonagh is a London-based artist and printmaker working under the name Bravespears. His work combines screen printing, etching and collage, using bold colour, graphic forms and layered imagery. He is interested in the marks, misregistration and unexpected results that come from making work by hand.

MY WORK
I make prints and etched works, often building images through layers of colour, texture and found material. The work moves between abstraction and recognisable imagery, drawing on print culture, design, music and the visual language of the city. I like the point where careful planning meets the accidents of the printing process, so every finished piece retains signs of how it was made.
